Online sellers: how the screens work
With the online sellers pack switched on
Filter by operator
On Marketplace orders, next to Filter by kind: (the connection the data came in through), Operator: narrows the page to one operator: the channel an order was sold on, or the connection itself when the order does not say. It lists only operators that appear on your orders, after All operators.
- Operator: narrows the orders, the settlements and every card built on them: the order and settlement cards, and the settlements you can pick on the Settlements tab.
- It does not narrow returns, which carry no operator, so the Returns tile says All operators. The RTO card, the 194-O TDS card, the TCS credit ledger and the credit note cards read on their own and say Not narrowed by the filters above.
Where your RTO parcels come from
On the Returns tab, RTO by channel, pincode and payment mode counts every parcel that came back to you undelivered. Group it by Channel, Pincode or Payment mode to see where returns to origin cluster, and how many of those parcels were risk-scored at checkout. It reads every RTO parcel on your shipments, whatever the filters show.
A parcel does not record its freight: the forward and return charges arrive on the courier's bill, which is not linked to a parcel yet. So the card counts RTOs and does not price them. It never shows their cost as ₹0.
Parcel weight from your items
Save each item's packed weight in its Package weight (grams) field, an item field that comes with the online sellers pack. If your item form does not have that field yet, the booking box works as it always did. Once it does, when you Book a parcel on Shipments and pick the bill under Against which bill?, the Weight (grams) box fills in by itself: each item's package weight times its quantity, added up. A note under the box says it was filled in, so you can change it if the parcel weighs more or less.
- If some items on the bill have no package weight, the box is left for you and the note says so.
- If the weights could not be read, the note says that too. It never guesses.
- A weight you type yourself always wins, even over a fill that arrives later.
Reports to start from
In the report builder, the buttons after Start from: gain two presets for online sellers:
- Stock by fulfilment location. Units at each fulfilment location: every movement in and out, netted per location.
- TDS summary. Receipts that had TDS deducted, grouped by who paid them, largest deduction first. A marketplace's deduction on a payout groups under the marketplace's name.
Marketplace returns: receive and credit
A marketplace return gets its credit note the same way a parcel return does: the goods are received into a godown as a return receipt, inspected, and the credit note is made when that receipt is posted. The Returns tab has two cards, both titled Credit notes for returns, that cover this.
- Receive this return. On a return not received yet, this starts a draft return receipt into your godown, linked to the return. With more than one godown, choose it under Receive returns into first. A cancelled order never shipped, so it has nothing to receive and needs no credit note.
- Open Returns receiving. On a return that is received and waiting, this opens Returns receiving. Inspect the goods there and post the receipt: posting raises the credit note.
- Open credit note. Once the credit note is raised, this opens it.
Each return shows its state: Not received yet, Received, waiting to be posted, Credit note raised, Receipt cancelled or Cancelled order, no credit note needed. If your role cannot make changes, you see every return and its state, but not Receive this return. For inspecting a returned parcel, see packing, dispatch and returns.
